This season will be Jonathan's second full year with the Wet Planet.
He came here at the end of the 2005 season with a recommendation from
fellow Wet Planet guide Jason Luker who he knew from guiding on the
Skykomish River. His first trip with Wet Planet came the day after
returning from 7 months of travelling. His entire crew came back with
huge smiles on their faces, and we knew we had to keep him! |

Born and raised
in the whitewater mecca of Eugene, Oregon, Jonathan’s been on
the river since his early years. He had his first rowing experience
at age 3, and started guiding in Oregon and Washington at age 16.
He has spent his summers since on some of the Northwest’s classic
rivers such as the McKenzie, Deschutes, Rogue, Skykomish and Green
River Gorge. |

Jonathan came
into his first commercial rafting job hitch-hiking a shuttle after
guiding friends down a Class IV+ river in Oregon. An owner of a local
company picked him up and offered him a job on the spot. |

Growing up in
a town full of pro boaters, Jonathan was inspired by and learned from
some of the country’s best whitewater boaters. In the last 3
years he has paddled throughout the U.S., Canada, Costa Rica, Panama,
Nicaragua, and New Zealand in search of great whitewater paddling.
He is an ACA Certified Whitewater Kayaking Instructor, and is a patient
and dedicated teacher. He shares his love and passion for the river
to all of his students. |
