Melissa Wilder

Melissa first stumbled across Wet Planet as a rafting guest in 2009. It was on that trip on the White Salmon River that she fell in love, both with whitewater and with her now current boyfriend Curt Joyce, Wet Planet River Guide. What started out as a fun girl's whitewater weekend, became the start of a new life chapter. When Melissa discovered the Columbia River Gorge, like so many of us, she was smitten. After that trip with Wet Planet, Melissa packed up her little car, downsized the excess in her life, and moved her life to the White Salmon River. Now, a few years later, Melissa is starting her second season with Wet Planet!

Born and raised in the Northwest Melissa tries to never take for granted the beautiful scenery that surrounds her every day. She loves to hike or go on a bike ride, finding solace in the mountains, hills, or the quiet country roads she likes to explore. She also has fallen in love with being on the river. She learned to kayak during her first season as a Wet Planet team member and enjoys the areas that she gets to explore through being on the river. Of course getting to go rafting whenever she has a chance is still just as fun as that first raft trip back when she was a guest with Wet Planet.

You will find Melissa doing almost anything at Wet Planet: in the office taking reservations, making a delicious espresso drink, taking pictures of our guests going over Husum Falls, or just getting to know the awesome people that are our guests at Wet Planet every day.
