Gynner Coronel

A highly accomplished rafting guide and kayaking instructor, Gynner has accumulated thousands of river miles over the past 16 years. He has guided extensively throughout Washington, Oregon, West Virginia, and California, spending several seasons on the Tuolumne river and also on Cherry Creek, known to be the most difficult commercially rafted river in the States. Internationally he has guided extensively in Costa Rica and Ecuador where he is responsible for well over 30 first descents, among them some of the country's most legendary runs.

Gynner brings to Wet Planet years of experience in guiding class IV and V whitewater. Though he enjoys guiding rivers of all levels, it's more difficult whitewater that especially stokes his passion. Class V requires its own level of focus and concentration and it is here where Gynner's experience and calm demeanor really shine. The more challenging the situation, the more focused and collected one needs to be. Years of exploring and guiding on class V rivers have given him a cool and reassuring disposition, which he transmits to his crews so they can find safe passage in whatever whitewater situation may present itself.

Gynner moved to live in the Columbia Gorge area largely to work with Wet Planet. He received an invitation to join the team from Andy Round and Todd, both of whom he first met while running rivers in Ecuador. He's been part of the Wet Planet family since 2004. Gynner is our favorite South American component to our Wet Planet Team.
