Brian Lee

After having the opportunity to travel and paddle with the Wet Planet crew in Peru during the fall of  2007, Brian Lee knew he had found his summer home.  "I was really impressed with the professionalism of the staff, and the positive group dynamics.  Wet Planet is more than a team, it’s a family, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of it."

Brian grew up in Colorado, and being a life-long skier, he was drawn to whitewater because he needed something to fill the void left at the end of the ski season.  He has found kayaking and rafting to be the perfect yin to skiing's yang.  As his life began to revolve around water cycles, Brian earned a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management from Colorado State University.  "In my opinion, water is the most precious resource we have, and I wanted to devote my life to studying it, preserving it, and sharing my passion for it with others."

Before coming to Wet Planet, Brian spent 7 seasons guiding various rivers in Colorado, West Virginia, Costa Rica and Ecuador.  Brian now leads a nomadic lifestyle, spending his winters working in Crested Butte Colorado for the Office for Resource Efficiency and teaching ski school where he earned the 2008-09 'Peak Performer Award' for excellence in instruction.  He migrates to White Salmon, Washington in the summers to take advantage of the epic whitewater, while raft guiding and teaching kayaking for Wet Planet.
