Alexa Williams

Alexa first discovered her love for whitewater at ten years old, while rafting on the White Salmon River. A Husum native, her childhood was spent exploring the Columbia River Gorge, primarily on foot and on horseback, later on the river with Wet Planet! In her adult life Alexa has made her love for the outdoors a central focus.

In 2008 she completed a long-distance hike of the 2,600 mile Pacific Crest Trail, walking from Mexico to Canada in 5 ½ months. Her life-changing experiences on the trail resulted in heightened wanderlust. She relocated to Taiwan in 2009, to study Mandarin Chinese, in preparation for another trek-this time along the Great Wall of China. In 2010 she spent 3 ½ months in China, hiking a total of 1,000 miles along the Ming Dynasty Wall in Gansu, Ningxia, and Shaanxi provinces. Currently Alexa spends her time in the off-season exploring Europe, Australia, and the Grand Canyon and many more to come.

Alexa has been rafting with us since she was a teenager and as an adult has joined our employee family. She also seems to have caught the whitewater bug, and is working to improve her rafting and kayaking skills. In February she spent 25 days rafting in the Grand Canyon with other Wet Planet staff Lance Reif, Justine Bryant and Brent Shirley, and cannot wait to get more time on the water in her many seasons to come!
