Looking for a fun, memorable and challenging adventure for your outdoor program or teen adventure camp? Whitewater rafting and kayaking challenge participants to work as a team, develop leadership skills and increase self-confidence. Most importantly, participants smile and laugh all day in one of the country's most spectacular environments.

We invite you to explore the possibilities with whitewater rafting & kayaking at Wet Planet for your outdoor program or adventure camp.

The Columbia River Gorge as an Adventure Playground

Located in the Columbia River Gorge, Wet Planet sits in the epicenter for every type of outdoor activity. Our program specialists can help you find a river rafting trip or kayak course designed to work within your unique program.

From one-day rafting trips that fits into a break during your group's travel days, to week-long kayak camps complete with lodging and meals, we are able to design a custom whitewater program that will meet your group's goals.

Working with your Group Leaders

Working with adventure groups is our specialty. We enjoy developing custom programs that fit within your group's itinerary and goals.

Our instructors and guides help to reinforce the skills your group leaders work to build on a daily basis. Your leaders help participants develop leadership abilities, gain confidence in the outdoors, and increase wilderness skills, all while making new friends and having a great time. Let us handle the rafting and kayaking side of your program, while ensuring that your group's leaders are able to keep working to make sure that your group or camp goals are met.

Who are these custom programs for?

• College students in outdoor programs
• Adventure camps
• Boy & Girl Scout summer camps
• Ski & snowboard camps
• Teens and adults in between summer camps

How will these programs benefit your group?

  • Built-in team building through rafting and kayaking activities.
  • Fun, memorable stories for a lasting impression your group can share with family & friends.
  • Introduction of a technical skill, difficult for most individuals to learn on their own
  • Bragging rights for your group, "Oh yeah, well my summer camp went rafting & kayaking!"
  • Additional educational opportunities found on the Northwest's Wild & Scenic Rivers, rich in ecology and history

By adding a whitewater experience to your program, your group leaders can focus on specific goals while we take care of the logistics, equipment and specialized instruction on the whitewater. We want to be your partner, helping to meet your high standards for professionalism in the outdoors.

Most of all, your group will have fun with a unique experience, not found in other outdoor programs.

The Columbia Gorge is home to many different water sports: kite boarding, windsurfing, whitewater kayaking, and rafting. At Wet Planet, we believe a child's development is enhanced with exposure to a variety of sports at a young age.  In line with our philosophy of sharing our passion for river running with our guests, we have developed a 4-day kids' kayaking camp that will help build paddling skills, confidence, and an appreciation for the beautiful area we live in.

Take advantage of the Wet Planet Kids Kayak Camp, and let us help your kids learn invaluable knowledge necessary to playing safely in the river environment!

This 4-day kids program is designed around the sport of whitewater kayaking. Each day we will review and progress whitewater kayaking skills, focusing on "river safety" and using fun and interactive games to develop paddling skills and confidence.

We'll also work hard to challenge the students creativity, both on and off the water, with cool projects throughout the camp. It is our goal in this program to encourage each child to playing in the outdoors and practicing their paddling skills long after our camp has ended. As some of the world’s best paddlers – who live right here in the gorge – will tell you: continuity, repetition and persistence are the best way to develop solid skills and good paddling habits. Although we may focus on paddling, there will still be plenty of time for everyone to develop good friendships. It is what rivers tend to do for all of us.

Wet Planet’s Unique Facilities and Outdoor Setting
At Wet Planet we have the unique opportunity to utilize our own private outdoor pool for our instruction. Located right on the Wet Planet property, the pool is the perfect place for a comfortable introduction to whitewater kayaking. In addition, our facilities are located on 4 acres of river and creek side property right along the White Salmon River.  Our location makes for the perfect outdoor classroom!

Who is the class for?
This camp is for children brand new to the sport or those who are still becoming “comfortable” in a kayak on the water. Our instructors take extra care to not let the skills or experience of others disrupt a child's learning experience.  We strive to have every child leave camp prepared with new skills and knowledge, and excited to be on the water more.

"I want to kayak" - "I'm scared" - "I don't know anyone" - "What gear do I need"

At Wet Planet, we feel it is valuable for a child's development to be encouraged to try a variety of sports starting at a young age. In line with our philosophy of sharing our passion for river running with our guests, we have developed a monthly program - in addition to our 4-day kids' kayaking camp during the summer - that will help build paddling skills, confidence, and an appreciation for the beautiful area we live in.

The goal of our kids' kayak clinics is to provide a fun, educational foundation for their kayaking future. Our well trained, experienced kayak instructors will ensure a supportive environment for your child to learn. Each month we will focus on a skill or technique used in kayaking while participating in a fun, action packed game! Parents are welcome to drop children off for the designated time or stay and watch them progress.

Who is the class for?
This camp is for children brand new to the sport or those who are still becoming "comfortable" in a kayak on the water. All students are encouraged to attend the entire progression, which will allow them to build their skills each session. However, it is also fine for children to attend some classes, while missing others. We'll make sure they have the skills and knowledge to feel comfortable with the rest of the group.
