Wet Planet Guide School 2009
Going through guide school with Wet Planet was truly a unique and divers educational experience.
Our instructors were a group of Wet Planet professional guides who
offered many years of river knowledge and experiences all over the
world. Their passion and knowledge of rivers was overwhelmingly obvious.
We traveled to four different rivers which taught us to read,
understand and experience different types of river hydrology. After 64
hours of river time I feel comfortable and confident with: reading
water, maneuvering the raft on different types of whitewater, basic
river rescue, the logistics of running a river trip, scouting and using
river equipment. On our last day we experienced the grand daddy of
them all, the Wind River! After wrapping our raft in a class V rapid,
my raft became apart of an awesome teachable moment. Thank the river
gods for high siding and a sweet rescue crew!Overall our class had an
awesome time together while learning and experiencing a great deal
about rivers.
