Eddy Flower Verticle Challenge huge success!

For those of you who don't know of the Verticle Challenge, it's a lot like a walk-a-thon, but insted of walking, we paddle our kayaks! The idea behind it is simple; to gather donations/sponsers and paddle more verticle feet feet of whitewater in 30 days than anyone one else! cool! All of the money raised goes towards funding First Descents, an organization that works to provide outdoor expereinces for young adults with cancer... great cause and a great time paddling the gnar!
This years Wet Planet team consisted of Todd Collins, Andy Round, Curt Joyce, Drew Austel, and your truly Lance Reif. As a team we paddled 145 runs and dropped a total of 91,120 feet! In the end, we took 2nd place as a team in the open division losing to the winning team by a mere 382 feet... The good news is Drew Austel took overall first place in the competition with 34,405. Congrats Drew! Wa to represent! In the donation department, we raised $3,331 for First Descents. A great total for an amazing event. Needless to say we were happy with our results and will be looking forward to stepping it up again next year in an effort to be crowned champions of the Eddy Flower Verticle Challenge!
