WET PLANET RAFTING
Hot News:
We are now running the Farmlands section of the White Salmon River, an action packed whitewater adventure in a vertical walled canyon accessible only by whitewater boat. This class IV/V rafting trip is a Wet Planet exclusive! Book now! First trip of the 2006 season: Friday June 23rd. (return to top)

WET PLANET KAYAKING
Pool Sessions
Starting this year, we are offering 2-hour pool sessions in our on-site Kayak Pool. These sessions are great for beginning kayakers learning to roll, or intermediate to advanced kayakers looking to improve their roll. 2-hours of instruction with our ACA and BCU certified instructors: $45, includes all gear if needed. Keep Paddling with a Refresher Clinic!
We would like to encourage graduates from our 2 or 3 day beginner clinics to continue kayaking! Those who have taken this class with us over the last couple of years are invited to join us for a refresher on the following dates:
- July 8th
- July 9th
- August 12th
- August 13th
Special rate for Wet Planet alumni: $75 for a full day of kayaking. Instruction, all equipment, gear, lunch and shuttle are included. (normally $95 per person) (return to top)
WET PLANET PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
Whitewater Rescue Training
Wet Planet is the only outfitter in the area with the expertise, training and certifications to offer Whitewater Rescue training and certification. Due to a full and successful class early this month, and a high demand for another course this season, we are offering whitewater rescue courses on the following dates:
- September 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2006
- June 1st, 2nd, 3rd 2007
In cooperation with Klickitat County Search & Rescue and Nick Puff from White Salmon's Sky Line Hospital, Wet Planet is assisting in creating a Whitewater Search & Rescue Team for the area. Additional training dates for interested team members will be set. (return to top)
White Salmon RiverFest & Symposium
The first annual Headwaters Institute White Salmon RiverFest & Symposium was held on June 7th 2006 and, with over 75 participants, was a huge success. Event coordinator and creator Jaco Klinkenberg (co-owner of Wet Planet) organized this non-profit event to help educate the entire White Salmon Guide Community on natural history issues pertaining to the White Salmon River Watershed. Speakers ranged from a panel of experts discussing the upcoming removal of Condit Dam to a member of the Yakima Nation teaching about historical and future Native American uses of the White Salmon River. It is our goal to make the White Salmon RiverFest a popular, yearly event for our river community. INTERNATIONAL ADVENTURES
Dates for this winter's Costa Rica trips are set:
- Saturday March 17th through Sunday March 25th
- Saturday March 24th through Sunday April 1st
Both trips can be joined by both rafters and kayakers.
Check our website for more information on this spectacular trip, led by Todd & Jaco who both considered Costa Rica home for 2 years. Trip cost includes all transportation, food, lodging & river trips. Request your favorite guide; they would love to join you for some warm water paddling!

WET PLANET FACILITIES
We continue to work on our base facilities to make sure that our guests' experience off the river is as positive as their time on the river. Our shop has undergone a major upgrade this season with new looks, a new counter and improved traffic flow during the busy times. We are particularly excited with the construction of our new espresso bar and photo counter. Built by K.E. Designs from recycled roofing, old forest service park benches, and bamboo for the counter top, this gorgeous bar and photo stand was constructed entirely from environmentally sustainable materials. Outside, we have added more changing rooms and a new kayak storage rack, while our kayak pool has already seen high use this season. (return to top)
