The Paddle and Pamper series is a unique program developed specifically for women by Wet Planet instructor Heather Herbeck. The program focuses on developing kayaking skills in ways that benefit women the most. Aside from the skill and technique portions of this trip that occur naturally on the water, we'll also focus on the mind and body as well. Paddling the Deepest Canyons in the World: This October, the Wet Planet crew headed to Peru to paddle the two deepest canyons in the World.
In addition to these raft-supported runs, five kayakers from the group also ran the Paucartambo River. Dropping from an elevation of almost 10,000 feet to 1400 feet in just 4 and a half days, the group logged one of the fastest descents of this river known to date.
Some of the Wet Planet crew are already back in the States, while others are continuing their adventures by travelling to Chile. In this month's newsletter: 
As
an extra bonus during the holiday season, Wet Planet will include
a PADDLE GREEN TAG with every Gift Certificate. Each Paddle
Green Tag is a renewable energy certificate that represents the
generation of 100 kWh of wind energy and prevents 140 pounds of
greenhouse gas emissions (roughly the amount created during a round
trip drive from Portland to Wet Planet)! This means that with a
purchase of a Wet Planet Gift Certificate, we'll invest in enough
wind energy to offset the emissions when someone from Portland drives
out for a Wet Planet rafting trip or kayaking course.
Traveling
in a circular route through the country, we will paddle five different
remote, jungle river stretches (class III-IV). Off the river, we
will explore tropical rainforests, lounge at the beach on the Caribbean
Coast, visit local markets, and enjoy the Costa Rican culture. The
final night of the trip will be spent resting river weary bones
in the famous Tabacon hot springs, while watching lava flow out
of the active Volcano Arenal. During the trip, we take care of all
of your transportation, lodging, and meal considerations.
