The Tieton River Season is Almost Here!

Hello Rafters, Kayakers, and Group and Event Organizers,

After last winter's low snow pack, who would have guessed that this summer would have been such a great one out on the river.  Well, it has been!  Endless sunshine, an incredible glacier up on Mt. Adams providing plenty of water, and classic Northwest scenery have helped contribute to a great whitewater season for both kayakers and rafters at Wet Planet.  With guests on the White Salmon River returning daily with huge smiles, it's hard to believe that the end of summer is in sight.

However, that means that the Tieton Season is right around the corner.  Every September, water is released from Rim Rock Lake dam, creating a big-water roller coaster rafting ride on the Tieton River.

Join us this September for a Season's Finale on 15 miles of rocking Class III+ whitewater rafting on the Tieton River.  Thanks to a dry summer, the expectation is that even more water will be released from the dam this season to make up for lower water flows downstream of the Tieton.  This means that this season we should have BIG water on the Tieton!  Located just a 3-hour drive from both Portland and Seattle, the Tieton is a great way to end the season.  Trip cost:  $70 per person (this includes all gear for the trip, as well as a BBQ after your run).  Make a weekend out of it ... all of our guests are welcome to camp with us at our base camp on the Tieton River.

Wet Planet News:

After a few months of hard work, and a couple of set-backs, the Wet Planet Kayak Pool is finished!  Students at the Wet Planet Kayak School are now happily working through roll sessions and getting used to being in their kayaks in the comfort of warm pool water and sunshine just a few feet away from espressos and smoothies in the Wet Planet shop!  The pool has been an incredible addition for everyone, kayakers and swimmers, during these hot summer weeks.

Andy Round is about to take off for his Multiple Rivers for Multiple Sclerosis Expedition.  The objective of the trip is to raise awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Society by paddling the four most challenging river expeditions in Alaska and British Columbia in succession.  This never before accomplished feat should take about 6 weeks.  Andy's last rafting trip this season will be on Wednesday.  We wish him luck and a safe return!
