Hello Rafters, Kayakers,
and Group and Event Organizers, The 2005 whitewater season is officially here! Thanks to some big snow storms at the end of a warm winter and unseasonably pleasant weather in April, the season is off to a great start. We have snow in the mountains, water in the rivers, and great weather! During the last few weeks we have had a blast with our first rafting trips of the season on the class IV Hood River, the White Salmon River and the Wind River, and have had some great days of kayak instruction on the Klickitat. We are running raft trips seven days a week, the Kayak School is in full gear, and our first guests of the season are already enjoying Espresso's in the shop. Now is the time to get out on the river!If you are looking for something to do with the family or are looking for a gift for Mom during Mother's Day weekend, give us a call. With our current Mother's Day special, Mother's go FREE on any of our trips when accompanied by only 2 or more family members. Other great news for our White Salmon Trips is that Wet Planet now has access to a put-in 2.1 miles upstream of the normal commercial rafting put-in used by other companies. During the summer, when the water levels are lower, we will uniquely offer our guests the longest stretch of class III-IV whitewater run by any company on the river. This additional stretch of river includes the two best rafting rapids on the river, a jump rock in the middle of an unbelievably beautiful canyon, and more of the incredible White Salmon Canyon scenery. On a Wet Planet trip, you will be on the river enjoying whitewater and scenery for over 45 minutes before you float past the other companies starting their trips. Once you have done this additional stretch, you will not settle for less! With the new put-in and our private take out at our headquarters below Husum Falls, we are now the only company on the river with a private put-in and take-out: 32 acres of White Salmon riverside property! Corporate events, wedding parties, family reunions, church events and other large groups will appreciate the private river access and possibility of a riverside BBQ, free of the crowds found at the public put-in and take-out on weekends in July and August. We may have had a low snow pack this winter, but THE WHITE SALMON RIVER IS GLACIER FED. There might not be a lot of snow, but the glacier isn't going anywhere.
